Somewhat related, I just had an inguinal hernia repaired by a team of female surgeons, waiting time was about two weeks. If I had wanted a male surgeon in the same group, waiting time would have been several months. It seems that some patients suspect the capabilities of female doctors.
The doc that took care of my recent colonoscopy is a woman. Her partner in their practice is also a woman. Pretty much all the butt stuff that goes on in this valley is done by them, as well as pretty much all other internal surgery. Glad to have them.
