  1. So as we wait for the country to slip another few feet deeper into the shithole, let's return to "Blue's Blues Bullshit" and the possible connection of Edna with Pink Anderson.
    So, another of Edna's works we found by clicking links is A Few Figs From Thistles a collection of poems published in. 1922.
    We have

    MY candle burns at both ends;
    It will not last the night;
    But ah, my foes, and oh, my friends–
    It gives a lovely light!

    SAFE upon the solid rock the ugly houses stand:
    Come and see my shining palace built upon the sand!

    —These are the only ones named "FIG" Cool, right? Or not. Anyway, serendpitously this past week, I have been learning a tune by Pink Andeson called "Greasy Greens" [ apparently a staple of the medicine shows ; no author listed anyware in the googleverse ] recorded in 1950 . [recorded by a young fellow named Paul Clayton, who was doing some field recording……whole other story…..] There's a little story about why I started in on it but will spare you that. Can find no earlier recordings of it. Pink's pal, Peg Leg Sam records it in 1970, but has no 'fits' in the lyrics.

    So I look up the lyrics on a site called Weenie Cambell which isone of my 'go tos ' for things like this.
    In between verses, Pink says what sounds like "first fit", "second fit", "last fit", and a later commenter says ,"yeah, he does say 'first fit'. No-one, however has any comment or question about wtf 'first fit ' is supposed to mean.
    So imagine when I click on the further Edna link and see "First Fig" , "Second Fig" .
    Edna, by the way, died in 1950 months after the Pink recording. My first thought was that her death was in the newspapers and maybe they printed some poems and Pink saw them. Thistles are a possible greasy green by the way. Maybe Pink was reading Edna otherwise. Maybe 'first fit' is just some Pink joke we'll never know the relevance of.
    Oh well.
    That's all I got. Maybe I'll write to Roy Bookbinder and ask, he hung with Pink a little bit.

  2. So I figure many/all wonks have thought that impeachment was justified maybe since the inauguration.
    Anything changed? I figure this just adds another hearing on the pile.
    Anybody think The Peach will happen? Is it necessary?
    Will other hearings do the job and hope for the best 2020?

    1. Nancy won't do it, and even if she did, the Senate would squash it like a bug. I'd be OK with a couple of years of nothing getting done, but that's also unpossible with the freight train of judicial appointees being crammed down our throats.
