  1. Increasingly, the iconic American planemaker and its subcontractors have relied on temporary workers making as little as $9 an hour to develop and test software, often from countries lacking a deep background in aerospace — notably India.

Well, why hire staff at skilled American Aerospace engineer prices when you can go and spend $9/hour for offshore engineers? So what if they have little commercial flight systems programming and manufacturing experience, they're titled and saving the company money. Why do you hate Capitalism?

Rabin, the former software engineer, recalled one manager saying at an all-hands meeting that Boeing didn’t need senior engineers because its products were mature.

    Have at it, Engineers.

    1. It is a "point of pride", so to speak, that the nuclear weapons complex is not run as a for-profit enterprise.

  2. [ oh new thread…….anyway we also need the "ville guitarists opinion on Gibson—again ]
You are on Frank roll today.
'Authentic 'comment below was about this:Gibson did a weird- thing video, then deleted it.

Ya know, since I saw the video a coupla days ago, I didn't look down at the comments. They are brutal.

      1. Ah. Thank you. I had seen people reference the App in this context but never went and looked.
No wonder they're taking FUCK YOU GIBSON up a couple notches.

This whole thing is only of viewing hilarity to me since I'l never own one.

    1. Rain gets right-up next to Blue and says, "look honey, I don't wanna go all the way. How about just some wind. That'll be okay , won't it? Imma go rain with someone else."

Blue grumbles, "yeah, I've heard it all before."

      1. (fixed)

That cold front pushed a line of towering meso cells fast, hitting hard with big wind and rain for 30-45 minutes. Just 1/2" of rain this time. Temperature has nosedived, from 91F at peak to 71 now. I missed the scattered 60 mph winds, downed trees and limbs and hail, though and I'm good with that.

I just went outside with the dogs and the sky is gin clear and starry overhead. Somebody,s still getting hammered – the whole south horizon is filled with huge dark cumulus with some of the most intense and continuous cloud to cloud to ground lighting activity I've seen. Totally quiet and still here. Spooky .

        1. I remember it a such.
I was a , well, not supporter, but by 2007 I was in 'lets fuck this shit up' mode, so was at least
less dismissive of his flakiness than most. Also he introduced articles of impeachment of W, so still has
a place with me. Pissed off a lot of 'important people ' in Cleveland when he was mayor.

          1. My dad spoke Russian at home frequently when I was growing up. That was a sign that one or more of his kids was in big trouble.

    1. haha, I was literally just about to post this.

So many analogies. She is such an embarrassment. Still cringing.

Bathroom selfies: for when world leaders won't talk to a person who doesn't even have a job description.

    1. I am friends with two brothers who were in Manzanar as children. Their family stayed behind in the valley after they were freed. One brother became a surgeon, the other a business owner. Bet your ass they never forgot.

    1. Yeah, just saw this . Will take a little walk to look for that little shit's previous thoughts on Kim.

    2. Tucker is pretty sparse on this issue. Others much worse
      [ from Newsweek ]
Tucker Carlson, host of Tucker Carlson Tonight, blasted media personalities who criticized the summit and said the meeting was "kind of remarkable" considering how few times Kim has left North Korea. In February, however, he said "progressives have a long and dishonorable history of supporting the world's most repressive regimes."

He added, "It's hard to find a dictator the left has not supported."

  3. "Portland police have claimed that some of the milkshakes thrown by the antifa activists on Saturday contained quick-dry cement."
[ no links because cesspool. ]

    1. Being a concetean I must note that the Portland PoPo shoulda said "quick-set" cement. Cement sets due to chemical reactions, it is not adobe/mud that dries.

      1. You should write them a rant about how the stupid police don't use the correct terminology.

Anyway, I'm sure that one way or another they will present the concrete milkshakes to the press.

[eta: does pee work with it? afaf ]

… do they not understand what "quick-drying" means, or are they saying Antifa has made a technological breakthrough in material science?

          1. How………..how can this BE!!!!!!!!!???????????????

[ ty might come in handy the next few days.]

    1. Sadly, my cat had an abscess that now requires oral antibiotics. You can't feed a cat meds, it's in the rule books. I've been putting it on canned food, which he's never had here before. Now I'm afraid he'll never eat kibble again, so will likely starve to death.

      Canned cat food stinks, y'all.

Don’t belittle progress. It took Trump’s top advisors months to bring him to this level of understanding of the issue.
