Thomas Brock, whose discovery of heat-resistant bacteria in a hot spring at Yellowstone National Park in 1966 led to the development of the chemical process behind the PCR test for Covid-19, died this month. He was 94.
I realized the other day that I didn't know if hummingbirds were passerines. Had to look it it up.
No. ,
But while musing about the word 'passerine' , a very lewd blues lyric occurred to me, which ID probably won't let me post.
Don't think I would share it here anyway.

To think Ted Kaczynski could still be out there mailing parcel bombs to prominent industrialists if he just put “it’s a boy!” on every box
It's supposed to last from 2.5 to 6 months.
Just prior to surgery I'll get two more nerve blocks, but those will only work for a day or two.
I've been in chronic pain for a very long time, but everyone, including the surgeon, warns me that I ain't seen nuthin' yet.
Long ago I think it was my sister who told me that I'll learn that the pleasures
and pains balance out in life.
But I ain't never had anywhere near the pleasure to balance the pain when I tore-up my knee on the BB court.

He should've left those things undiscovered! It's a well-known fact that what you don't know won't hurt you.
Did not know that.
Damn intense debate just won't let me post pix.

It gets easier when you download the rosetta stone app.
Not sure how to do that.
Everything I have is standard.
Relax, you don't have to do anything. It happens automatically after the two week waiting period. Much smoother than the Win10 upgrade.
Cool.
Biff, did you get any rain?
No, not a drop. It doesn't look like any new snow on the mountains, either.

Kinky!
It took a while, but she got there!
I can't let it get in the way of my knee replacement, damn it!
I went in for a series of injections yesterday, to freeze nerve endings and block pain.

I still have to take (and pass!) a nuke stress test, and a covid swab.
Barring complications, surgery is May 3.
They deaden the nerves 1.5 weeks in advance?
I guess so.
It's supposed to last from 2.5 to 6 months.
Just prior to surgery I'll get two more nerve blocks, but those will only work for a day or two.

But I ain't never had anywhere near the pleasure to balance the pain when I tore-up my knee on the BB court.
Right?
This will be the fourth operation on this knee, and I hope to fuck it's the last. I'll settle for absence of pain if I can't get the pleasure.
Yep. That's what's left.
And not that pizza poseur, either.
I've never understood why they're called "back" ribs, because they're the same rib in front, too. Not as catchy a tune, however.
I never even got to see him with Jefferson Airplane, damn it.

Also, RAIN?
Well spaced.
