  1. Consider the subtleness of the sea; how its most dreaded creatures glide under water, unapparent for the most part, and treacherously hidden beneath the loveliest tints of azure. Until they jump up and bite yer ass.

  3. I know everyone is waiting for my hot take on the tomato soup at the van Gogh.
    Meh.

    Did it help? Nah.

Would it have been a shame it they had actually damaged the painting. Yeah.

    A disaster? Nah.

Notre Dame going up in flames was a shame too. Also ranked fairly low on my list of concerns.

  4. I had cataract surgery go completely sideways and am now blind in one eye. I don't know if it's permanent yet, but it seems pretty hopeless.
    Fuck.

  5. Intense debate is now not allowing me to reply, apparently. Let's try an OP.
I see the retina guy in Reno again tomorrow, see what he has to say.

      1. He doesn't want to go in blind, so to speak, so he wants the blood inside to absorb so he can see what's up. I have to see the local guy next week for a pressure check, then he and the specialist in Reno will talk over a plan. Spinning wheels.

  7. There's also, Starship 's "Octopus" and Gentle Giant's "Red Octopus", [ or was it the other way around?] neither of which I cared for.

  8. No news from the specialist. He says that if restoring some vision is the goal (it is) then surgery is the answer. Trouble is, he still can't see inside the eye so he doesn't know the extent of the damage.
    Crap.
