I'm guessing those cucumbers were grown in a greenhouse. These kinds of flatworms are present in greenhouse scenarios a lot. They like places that are warm and wet.
There's a cucumber joke in there but I'm breaking with tradition this one time and just shutting up.
I probably post too many food things, but dang, it just keeps being topical. I'm making burritos tonight, so if anybody has a burrito-related post, I'll be ready.
Dill pickles? YES. The only proper pickle. Fantastic.
I have a large volunteer emergence of dill that comes up every year in my small raised bed square foot garden. I give the first crop almost entirely over to the Black Swallowtail caterpillars. They can consume mass quantities.
BTW, a friend turned me on to a local place that makes awesome dill pickles. I'm ruined for anything else out here. Back east, maybe, but damn these things are tasty.
Here's some local color for you: in this region they don't raise escargot, but instead have cagouille. Far as I can tell, they are the same thing, but it's just another little quirk of the regional dialect. I'm not a huge fan, either way, but my husband likes them.

Sunny all morning, lulling us into a false sense of meh.

| How's this for a Burrito post? |
Excellent burrito post! I will spare you a photo.
And I would never have guessed that dill has a pest enemy. I tend to stick with basil and parsley for my summer herb garden.

Oh we accept all kinds of food-related pics here.
| Black Swallowtails are pretty | and their larvae prefer parsley, dill and the local weed Queen Anne's lace.
| The larvae are beautiful, grow very fast. | and | stick out these ridiculous fleshy horns | when annoyed.
They're welcome in my garden any time.
Thanks. Will toss that out at the next cocktail party.
Aww, they are sorta cute when they're babies.
Ain't they?

we really need to pay her a visit. I'm sure she'd love some receptive eaters.
