  1. I would just like to take this opportunity to say: WHERE THE HELL ARE THE TRICK OR TREATERS?

    I haven't had a single one. wtf.

          1. Now I'm kinda sad/nostalgic…….the time gramma smashed a few up and just put the broken edges in the stuffing……sigh……good times.

          2. I guess my gramma was a purist. She used to "crucify" the razor blades with nails and hide them in the Easter eggs. Never figured how she got them in there. I asked her once and she said, "Simple, honey. You just feed them to the hens and they do the rest."

    1. We had our first three in 11 years tonight, because the gardener left the gate open. We were running around like idiots wondering, "Do they want stale biscotti we never ate?"

      First world problems, I know.

      1. I'm hoping my gardener didn't do that back home in CA. He comes in on Monday, and the last several times that I've been away, the gate has been open when I get back.

Down here, I padlocked the gate and the house sets back from the street about 200 feet. None shall pass!

  2. It rained up here and we lost power for half an hour while I was writing up a proposal I just submitted. My UPS kept the intertubes going, if not I'd tether to my phone, the cell tower next door has a backup generator. Otherwise, print it out, hop in the beetle, drive over there, tie it to a rock and throw it over the fucking fence

  3. I set up my shipping container with a 45 watt solar system a few years ago. Fun project, only cost $200 including the battery. Trouble is, with those steel walls, ain't no cell signal gonna sneak in.

  4. My Prius has about one kWh of battery storage. My house is pretty low on the electricity load, we could probably hold out with the cars and some jerry rigged stuff for a while.

  5. you say that like it's a bad thing. You can take off your tinfoil hat! Also, solar is dirt cheap these days, you can get a 300W panel for like $250 or less. Crazy!

  6. I'd like nothing better than to be able to take advantage of it. I intend to take the proceeds from the sale of the desert compound and build a garage in CA. For "reasons", my existing shop building (and an RV space out back) are on a separate meter, so even if I installed a solar roof, running the power up to the house would entail some serious demolition. Or more overhead lines, which I'm not too keen on. Everything's a pipedream, anyway…
