  1. No, we are not the Greek warriors of old. We are not Spartans, standing on the backs of slaves. We are not a warrior class that stands apart from the people of the United States. We are not crusaders, carrying religion on the point of the sword. We fight together, side by side, for the people of the United States. We support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic and bear true faith and allegiance to the same.

    1. How about we do these folks the justice of a great VA and a foreign policy that doesn't result in endless war?

Edit: and pay for them to learn a trade that they can get a job in afterwards, college based or whatever!

      1. Yep, that's what he's asking for.

Warrior class = perpetual war. Citizen army = democratic society with a more equitable split of wealth.

  2. I never enlisted, but from what I've seen from people in the armed forces I know that they take no crap from others who happen to be in uniform. Hoping that helps us get through the military-heavy Trump cabinet FFS.

  3. As much as it pains me, probably the best comparison from the ancient world to the modern is the US military as Roman legionnaires.
