  1. Funny how all of a sudden there are a slew of debates, most of which have nothing to do with the DNC

    thanks Obama DWS

        1. I know one collector [ really kinda nuts… THERE"S A SMUDGE ON THE JACKET!!!!!!!!!!!!!.], and a couple people who just really like the vinyl .

  2. Great gif, snow!

This debate is at UW-Milwaukee. I've been there! (Not sure which building, though. Looks fancier than any of the ones I was in.)
Also, today is the five year anniversary of Scott Walker and WI state leg. introducing Act 10, which sparked the Wisconsin Uprising. I wonder if it will get a mention. (It won't.)

    1. Thanks!

I'm doubting that they'll bring it up too, but on the plus side this is PBS and they'll probably do a good job overall.

    1. Pragmatism is what inspires people to…what? .Look, she's right, everybody knows that, but the disaffected voters aren't going to come out for what's achievable.

    1. Starting to feel like at this point, every man on the planet will get a turn at being President before a woman gets elected.

        1. I'm not weighing in on the merits of either candidate, I'm just saying it's hard for me to get excited about the first Jewish president when we still can't come close to electing women. In fact, I doubt Hillary will get elected. And Bernie is great, but his millennial supporters are such assbags that I, for the first time in my life, am starting to want to ignore politics completely.

          1. Well, shit. My mother only voted in one election: '84, for Ferraro as VP, simply because she was female. (My family was not involved in politics– punk actually got me completely involved). That should tell you something right there.
I don't give a shit about assbags, but I am wary of millenials, (find them ridiculously not-ready for actual shit– can't get outside me/phone/parent ass-bubble for one fucking second.*)

Shit, I went alone to protest Desert Storm in DC. I was 19. '91!! It meant something to me. I had my Nikkormat camera and observational qualities.. (still have pictures)

*Except you, snow! you are awesome. You would have been my best friend in Hamilton! when I needed one..

  3. Hillary bringing up some pretty impressive endorsements. Probably won't impress the people who absolutely hate anything slightly "establishment" but those should help among some others.

  4. The white areas that tend to be poorer vote Republican a lot. See West Virginia. That state has serious problems but really vote against their own interests an incredible amount.

    1. It was intensely Democratic; it was also intensely pro-Union, but the legislature just got a right-to-work bill | through | with enough votes to get past the (Democratic) Governor's veto.
They are poor, deceived and exploited by their so-called "leaders" who are able to poison the drinking water with impunity. I suspect they no longer have any leader they trust.

  5. Sounds like Lindsey Graham is going to be really mad that neither of these two are going to put 50,000 troops on the ground.

  6. Well, they are Democrats and policy wonks themselves (with more on their staffs) and really do have thoughts and ideas about this, so none of the absurd/goofy/awful/scary stuff the Republicans dote on ("sure we can base our foreign policy on sentimentality, nostalgia and false memories. And magic. and we can do the same with everything else"). Then the Dems come along with actual policy papers that don't base things on magic. What fun is that? Inpeach!
