Scholarly journals are the last refuge of the robber-barons! Elsevier holds the title this is from and access is unavailable for an amateur naturalist such as myself. I worked 13 years at an academic typesetter and those journals were all pains in the ass. I suppose getting a library card from a university might give me access but the money is damn sure in the content.

We raised 10 rabbits out here on the farm and fed them a rabbit ration with supplemental hay. That's what you should (and no salt 'wheel' either) but the idiot farmer's wife (55 years old) thought we would just plant tons of carrot since rabbits are just like Bugs Bunny. She told her husband and I she had heard cats can suck the life out of babies. They are tea partiers.
Funny you mention that. I have until the end of this month to move as my boss is getting divorced and selling the farm. The house I live in has to sell first before they can fix up and sell their house and land, which has the most equity. I have 9 adults cats and 10 kittens in my place. No money or job or place to go to. The boss said he wants to help me out financially but they can't even pay their water bill. I do have a friend who'll let me store most of my things out on his 100 acres in a closed in barn.
So if any of you Central Texas folks (El Pinche, Texas Bulldogette) out there can take a place a cat you'd save more than one life!!!
4 years and 2 months. 11 more months and I can file for early Social Security. The high yesterday was 103 and the heat index was 111 although last week it was 118 for 2 days! Our 300 remaining chickens only lay about 55 eggs in this heat.
