I read somewhere (too lazy to look it up now) that the Canadian government held a write in ballot to rename the "Northwest Territories" to something more appropriate. There was a lot of worry when the leading name was "BOB" for a long while. "BOB" standing, of course for "Bottom Of the Barrel". Glad they went with "Nunavat" instead, but that did appeal to my inner prankster.
