  1. Wow, amazingly beautiful and technically astounding. I do a tiny bit of glass work, this puts my meager skills to shame.

      1. There are different COEs (coefficients of expansion) for different types of glass that dictate how one heats and mixes and cools glass. I use "soft" types of glass, with lower melting points and that are less tricky to work with than laboratory-style glassware under a flame, and easier to form/shape for artistic effects.

        I could probably use the same tools/techniques that I have now for hard glass, but I've never attempted it.

        1. I make my mirrors out of pyrex or plate (mostly plate), but I wish I had some decent glassblowing/working skills. I have some friends up in Oregon who slump glass to the approximate curve before making mirrors. I might have them slump some glass for me in the near future.
