I watched "Live From the Apollo" the other night, and I was pretty impressed with some of the actual music being sung and played. Not so much with the hipping and hopping, which I have just never gotten a feel for.
Likewise for me with the chamber music: great musicians doing it for the love of music, without hope of wealth or glory. But I struggle to stay awake through a string quartet.

on the bright side, a lot of cool people we don't know and may never know of were born this year.
We may never know them, but you can bet we'll coin a derisive term for their generation.
