Refried confusion is making itself clear. Wonder which way do I go to get on out of here

    1. I can only hope, because right now it looks like there's not much to push it back to the northeast after it turns north.

Fun fact: Matthew also didn't turn south. The normally-best models really blew the medium-range forecast on that one.

      1. Not only that, but that model seemed to insist more on that outcome than most of the other models if I'm remembering correctly. They were still the best model for the whole year though.

    2. My first/only trip to the Deep South was in February of 05. I couldn't believe the damage everywhere. Made me appreciate earthquakes more. You guys can keep those hurricanes.

  1. I like that potential track that has it going right up the gut of Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana and then turning northwest over Lake Michigan. Has there ever been a red-state ramble like that?

  2. Reports from the Hurricane Hunter aircraft indicate that the maximum
sustained winds have increased to near 140 mph (220 km/h) with
higher gusts. Irma is a category 4 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson
Hurricane Wind Scale. Additional strengthening is forecast during
    the next 48 hours.
