  1. They still sell leaded gas in Italy. Must be why Italy has socialized medicine and low-to-non-existent college tuition for all: they're just crazy!

        1. They've always been related by blood or marriage at one time or another. Except for Lamborghini, they've always stood apart. Now owned by VW, FFS.

          1. Fiat owns Ferrari, Alfa and Maserati. Also forgot to mention Lancia (another Fiat takeover), which never got imported to the US&A much, but in Italy you see Dodge Chargers sold as Lancia Themas.

          2. I believe Ferrari has been set free. Chrysler might be bought by a Chinese firm. Too bad. They made good products under the Mercedes-Benz umbrella, also with Fiat ownership. At least those are car companies, not just vulture capitalists.

    1. I used to buy avgas for my motorcycle. They never asked, but I had a tail number at the ready. Now, when I can find it, I buy unleaded racing gas for my car and bike. It doesn't boost the performance without a 100 octane tune, but it burns clean.

  2. Yes, but I think the EU controls it. There are a lotta Diesels, but one nozzle at the pump is labeled senza piombo. I know Milano levies a tax on vehicles entering and leaving the city which is captured by license plate cameras, so they're already doing some things we'd considerable an intolerable intrusion on our freedom to shit where we live.
