I got a nice visit from my niece yesterday. She and her current hubbie and 5 of their children (out of a possible 7) took a side-trip from their vacation in Death Valley. We really had a good time, which surprised the hell out of me. I was able to give away stuff to kids whose names I'll never be able to remember (except Juliet, who was wearing a shirt with her name on it). A Squier Stratocaster, a Celestron telescope, a Dutch oven, a hope chest, a family bibble…
Don't usually go into this sort of thing here, but stepdaughter is recovering nicely from a kidney transplant. She has been waiting for many years. After recovery, a whole new life for her, so…that's a thing.
