"As many times as I've been out here dealing with it, I'm over it," ["statue" owner Bill] Dorris said. "It don’t make me feel good, but you know what. They may be getting their rocks off that way…Well, if they would read their history book and find out what it’s all about, the ‘War of Northern Aggression’ was about taxes, it was not about slavery,” Dorris said. “Lincoln couldn’t find a real good reason to have a war, so he decided it was all about slavery. Two different issues right there.”
