  1. Ah that pic in the hed takes me back. Used to commute 65 miles each way over 7,352-foot Monument "Hill," between Denver and Colorado Springs. I had a lot of admiration for the snowplow drivers, who'd out there at 5:30 AM in the worst imaginable weather, running down a long 4% slope with the bed up dumping a mix of sand and future work for weejee, the blade down striking sparks off the pavement.

  2. Worst tap water I had was in Florida. The state's one big chunk of porous limestone. We had a water softener, but it was the only place where I used a brita filter religiously. Close second was Livermore CA, or the water in the SJSU engineering building. Those were tolerable.

Hey weej, they're building a new water tank for us up in the hills here, old one is past its prime. Should I get you down to consult or is it better not to ask?

Should ask my sister in NJ how her water is. Never had a problem, but I got out of there 23 years ago…
