  1. OK, so this hilariious [ I think so ] gif is from the Coen Bros. The Ballad of Buster Scruggs (2018)

In the IMBD 'goofs-factual errors' it says The sign on the bank in "Near Algodones" says "Tucumcari." The banker also refers to Tucumcari. The two towns are actually over 150 miles apart. .

The only Algondones I can find is just across from Yuma where the little pointy end of Mexicali threatens to destroy America. As you can see from the map above, Tucumcari is indeed over 150 miles away from Los Algodones. So, the Coens are making a fictional movie and I'm not gonna freak because they picked two Southwest -named places that don't fit a map. I'm guessig that Yuma is just too boring a name so they picked another. Now, Tumacacori is South of Tucson and about 225 mi. in a straight line to Yuma. Also truly more than 150 miles away.

    [ dammit , a task just intruded]

There's no Tucumcari or Tumacacori in MEX or CA.
So basically, wtf is IMDB talking about? San Diego? Lake Havasu?

    Ummmmm, that's all I got.

    1. Algodones, NM is midway between ABQ and Santa Fe, sandwiched between Santa Ana and San Felipe pueblos (google maps "san felipe nm" you'll see it).

There is a town called Budaghers, which consists of an abandoned bar. The Mormon Batallion Memorial is there, and an abandoned outdoor mall called Tradiciones! which has a whirligig sculpture garden and an aeolian harp

Tucumcari, NM is about 200 miles from there over roads (maybe 150 as the crow flies)

        1. It doesn't have much of a web presence. Apart from those attractions there is a mural on a decaying barn of three calavera musicians. Nobody famous lives there.

      1. A while ago when I saw the cover by whatshisname and whatshisname I thought it was pretty funny. I did not know that the tune had reached saturation point and lottta people were already sick of it [ again ]

  2. Funny line from meds

…. and ask your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions .

"Hey Doc, do I have any questions? "
    "Whoa, I guess I do."
    "Thanks."

    1. "You Don't Know Me" is a song written by Cindy Walker based on a title and storyline given to her by Eddy Arnold in 1955.

      1. It seems all ths weekend that each hour the scope of this story infinitely expands. It is hard to keep up. The insanity and shamelessness of it all is chilling.

        1. I tried to keep it all at arm's distance this weekend, with some level of success. Until I just watched the impeachment specials on MSNBC. Still, though, I didn't scream or break anything.

          1. I have a DVR, which means I never have to see or hear things I don't want to see or hear. Still, I'm wearing out remote batteries at a record pace smashing the mute button.

  3. Jess Dweck

    @TheDweck

lol Giuliani getting sucked into illegal Ukraine dealings while trying to defend Manafort’s illegal Ukraine dealings like some sort of moron quicksand

          1. Just catching up on stuff, but IT 45 may be a little preoccupied with the Cat 5 shitstorm. Took a
long time to develop , but whoa nellie it hit the warmer water and is blowing up.
