  1. Welp. Posted on the original fp. Also, hi!
Hola amigos, I know it's been a long time since I rapped at you.

Serious question for old school wonketeers, what was that thing where someone said "I know this picture is important, but I find it disturbing.." or something like that?

    1. Hi! Great to see you again and I hope youse guys are doin' well out there on Dessication Row.
I have a file of these things I save, for research reasons, and I think this is what you're referring to:

That image is very disturbing. I wish you’d have chosen something else. I realize that it’s a shameful part of American history that we should never forget, but it’s too much.

I don't know the etymology of this, but I believe it does date from the Newell era and was quite the catch phrase for a while.

      1. AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH YES! I *think* it was originally some prude's comment on a 9/11 pic (I could be wrong of course. Also, I think the person complained/whined about a lot of things) but then it became the go-to response to any pic of like Chris Christie or Ted Cruz or that O'Donnell witch lady. Or any Palin(s). Good times.

          1. Trust me, you do NOT want to be there when that happens, especially in one of the slot canyons.
There used to be a magnificent online photo montage of the 2004 floods, but the site seems to have gone away.
There's some in this series of 4 videos:

This shit happened on my watch.

          2. I remember back late 90's Tropical Storm Nora, which by then was just only about the size f Yuma County , dumped 4" in one day there. I don't think anyone died there, but all the farm workers living in the washes and other low areas got flooded out
