  1. Headed out to a Biergarten for the first time in 1.5 years.
Librarians are headed out for a West Coast trip to dodge fires and heat stroke, so we're gonna have a few.

  3. Dunno if y'all care about the Toyota thang, but I love this comment by Kara Swisher

Toyota is the no. 1 donor to Republicans who objected to certifying the 2020 election results — by far.

I briefly considered the Toyota Sedition, but settled on the Kia Sorento. More USB ports and 100 percent less insurrection.

  4. Boston hit 97 degrees on Monday, tying 1901 and 1991 for the hottest June 28 in recent recorded history. The “feels like” heat index was hovering around an oppressive 105 degrees.

The dangerous heat will once again be on tap for most of southern New England on Tuesday, with heat indices in the 100s.

  5. It's this kind of insight that prompted me to follow them.

  6. Shit's all sideways and stuff.

    Dew Point 32°

Supposed to be in the high 90sF by 10:30AM. This ain't right.

    1. Once in a while someone will offer to buy my aged Volvo for parts. Never enough to get another
      car that runs.

      1. I have to remind myself that cars depreciate. I'm getting a very fair price for it, but it's less than half what I have invested in it. It's been a blast owning it. I won't miss it much, because it sits in the garage most of the time.

          1. It's a 2008 Shelby SC. Very much fun, but it deserves to be driven. I don't do that very much anymore.

  7. It's doing OK, but it still doesn't feel like it belongs to me. I've only got two therapy sessions left, so I expect it to be 100% by Friday.
    Right.

  8. I used to give the cops access to a 40 ft container at my jobsite for fireworks storage. They'd bust people crossing the border from Nevada into California with a vanload of the good stuff. They'd escort them to my place to unload them, write them a citation and send them on their way. Once the 'splody stuff was no longer necessary for evidence, we were tasked with "disposal". Very much fun.

  9. I'll pay off my truck with the proceeds and have some money left over to put toward an electric car. I'm thinking a Mini. Lousy range, but for going to town and back, it'll be fine.

  10. Oops forgot that.
I guess I'll have to go back home next week to post and keep the validation on that computer
